Efforts include link budget analysis; waveform performance in benign and threat environments; network analysis such as routing design and architectures; protocol performance (access control timelines, probability of success, etc.); equipment and technology assessments including functional, performance (e.g., Navy dual ship antenna handover), and interface compatibilities; and assessment of operational requirements impact on system designs. We provide direct support to defining operational scenarios and analyzing communications requirements and resource ultilization for Navy afloat ADNS router system use of the TDMA Interface Processor (TIP) / Advanced TIP (ATIP) and EHF terminals to provided BLOS range extension and protected and wideband MILSATCOM implementation of Navy, NATO, and DISN services.
3.3Modeling, Simulation, Stimulation, and Analysis SupportDetailed MILSATCOM system modeling that identify operational scenarios and use automated algorithms to determine terminal and space segment resource requirements. Detailed link analysis and simulation to determine coding, interleaving and spread spectrum performance in a variety of threat and benign environments. We developed detailed low elevation angle atomospheric path loss models for protected communications in support of Measures of Effectiveness M&S for the Joint Aerial Layer Network (JALN).
