Fort Meade, Maryland (29 November 2017) - LinQuest personnel received recognition for its two-day AEHF training course held at the National Security Agency (NSA). LinQuest personnel led the two-day course to help new NSA systems engineers understand the foundational operational requirements and design of AEHF as well as its importance in providing terminal support.
A Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army Signal Corps, Deputy Chief, Space and Weapons Cybersecurity Solutions said, "I cannot praise enough the quality of the course, and the fantastic technical knowledge represented by the three LinQuest instructors: Jerry Hill, Juan Lujan, and Chris Trimble. Together, the three of them are a veritable "AEHF Dream Team." The volume and accuracy of their collective technical knowledge is unparalleled and simply awesome; not to mention the very well-assembled and well-organized course curriculum."
Well done, gentlemen!
El Segundo, California (15 November 2017) - Students from El Segundo High School visited the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base to participate in a history tour and mentoring session with SMC leadership and LinQuest Corporation employees.
LinQuest employee, Dr. John Eblen, noted, "Juniors currently enrolled in the "Project Lead the Way Engineering Pathway" program also participated in an Aerospace Corporation STEM Event and Career Mentoring that included a Questions and Answers session about what life is like as an engineer, which led to great discussions. The discussions primarily focused on the space environment and how it effects the design of spacecraft and space missions."
Mr. Christopher Beres, LinQuest's Vice President and General Manager of the Space Systems Engineering and Integration Group stated, "LinQuest is honored to have been invited to participate in this STEM event alongside Lt. Col. Porter (SMC/EN) and Capt. Collins (SMC/MC). It is exciting to be given the opportunity to help shape the upcoming generation of engineers."
September 11th is National Day of Service and Remembrance in honor of September 11, 2001. The day was started in 2002 by the nonprofit 9/11 Day in tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those heroes who responded to the attacks. LinQuest Corporation chose September 22 as a Day of Service in order to honor this effort.
Adopt a Highway (Chantilly, Virginia) - There were 11 participants at our Chantilly office location for our Day of Service. The team spent a few hours along Conference Center Drive, a two-mile stretch that surrounds their LinQuest facility. During this time, the group collected a whopping 12 bags of trash! Thank you to the team for dedicating your time to make your community a cleaner place!
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (Colorado Springs, Colorado) - Our fellow LinQuest employees in Colorado Springs volunteered at their local non-profit zoo in an effort to break down large elm boughs into different sizes for animal foraging.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (Los Angeles, California) - Thank you to our 21 participants for making this day possible; together, they sorted through 11,000 pounds of donated food that will provide 900 meals for those in need. Everyone who came out to the food bank helped decrease hunger in Los Angeles.
Thank you to all the participants who devoted their time to the greater good!
Odenton, Maryland (June 2017) - LinQuest Corporation is proud to announce that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Glenn Research Center recently awarded the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Study to LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest will provide systems engineering and technical support to develop a conceptual system design of a Command and Control (C2) satellite communications system. The system operates in C-Band SATCOM frequency for UAS and operates compatibly with terrestrial line-of-sight C2 systems operating within the same band. UAS represents a new capability that will provide a variety of services in the government and commercial aviation sectors.
Mr. Rich Williams, LinQuest's Vice President and General Manager of the Information Systems and Solutions Group stated, "LinQuest is proud and excited to support NASA Glenn on the UAS C2 study. This key effort will help shape the use of UAS capabilities in the national airspace. LinQuest looks forward to providing superior engineering support to our newest NASA customer."
Colorado Springs, Colorado (July 12-15, 2017) - LinQuest Corporation was one of the official sponsors of the annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo (PPOBR). The PPOBR was founded in 1937 by Spencer Penrose to entertain his guests at the Broadmoor Hotel. Following WWII, he decided to donate all proceeds to local military families. That tradition continues today, and this year marks the 77th PPOBR. PPOBR is one of the top five rodeos in prize money in the country and draws the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the United States (US). It is the 2nd largest event in Southern Colorado (after the State Fair) and more than 30,000 spectators watched this exciting action over four days.
Military members and organizations were honored at each performance: Fort Carson on Wednesday night; US Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Army Forces Strategic Command, and the 302nd Air Force Reserve Wing on Thursday night; Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) on Friday night; United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) at the Saturday Matinee; and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) on Saturday night. Additionally this year, First Responders were honored at the Thursday night performance.
All proceeds are given to the Rodeo Foundation Board that distributes funds to families on Peterson Air Force Base (AFB), Schriever AFB, the USAFA, and Fort Carson. Funds have been used for Operation Warm Heart, Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, programs for spouses and children of deployed members, and Wounded Warrior rehabilitation, just to name a few.
One LinQuest employee who attended the event said, "My family had a great time at the rodeo and was very grateful to LinQuest for sponsoring it. We honestly can say that LinQuest is more to us than just a company, it is a true family."
