Dr. Leon Biederman
Dr. Leon Biederman is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Dr. Biederman began his professional career at LinCom Corporation in 1975 as a Research Engineer. There he held numerous engineering and program management positions while building the LinCom Defense business from nothing to a multimillion dollars organization. He was promoted to Vice President and then President in 1981 and 1991, respectively.
After the acquisition of LinCom by Titan Corporation in 2000, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Titan Corporation Communications and Software Solutions Division where he had Profit/Loss responsibility for the Division. He served in that position until January 2004 when he joined LinQuest Corporation as part of the Asset Purchase Agreement that transferred most of the assets from the Communications and Software Solutions Division to LinQuest.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Biederman has held various technical and program management positions related to the development of Military Communications Satellites. He is one of the key architects of the EHF MILSATCOM systems, including the development of the terminal to space segment physical and functional interfaces. He is recognized as one of the national experts in processing MILSATCOM satellites and is well respected within the government and contractor development communities.
Dr. Biederman received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1977 and 1974, respectively.
Mr. Ronald Gorda
Mr. Ronald B. Gorda is Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Prior to joining LinQuest, Mr. Gorda worked for the Titan Corporation from 1991 through 2005. Mr. Gorda joined Titan as the Vice President of the Linkabit Division and was later promoted to Division President. He was elected a Corporate Senior Vice President in 1993 and President of the company’s Information Products Sector in 1999. The Sector’s focus was on the design, development and production of state of the art communication systems. The Sector’s six Divisions aggregate annual revenue exceeded $250M.
Mr. Gorda, and the other members of the corporate management team at Titan, implemented an acquisition and organic growth strategy that resulted in an annual revenue increase from approximately $110M in 1991 to over $2.3B in 2005. Titan’s employee count during this period grew from approximately 200 to over 13,000 when Titan was sold in 2005 to the L3 Corporation for over $2.5B.
Before joining Titan, Mr. Gorda worked for Rockwell Collins (1985-1991) managing the design and development of the Milstar Satellite Ground Communications Subsystem. From 1980 through 1985 he held senior engineering and management positions at Magnavox in Torrance, California with the primary focus on the design of commercial GPS products.
Earlier in his career he was employed by Raytheon Data Systems in Norwood, Massachusetts where he led the digital design engineering team for the company’s next generation data terminal. He began his professional career at Hughes Aircraft in 1977 as a Test Engineer.
Mr. Gorda received his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts, North Dartmouth in 1977.
Mr. Matthew Lyons
Mr. Matthew Lyons is a Member of the Board and the Chief Financial Officer of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Prior to joining LinQuest, Mr. Lyons was the Director for Business Development for the Communications and Software Solutions Division (CSSD) of the Titan Corporation. Mr. Lyons helped grow CSSD’s revenues from $12M in 2001 to $18M in 2003.
Mr. Lyons has a background in satellite communications and telecommunications. He has held management positions at ADC Telecommunications, Ryerson Tull, and FMC Corporation. Mr. Lyons also spent four years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force developing communications satellites.
Mr. Lyons holds a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
Dr. John Alexovich
Dr. John Alexovich is a Member of the Board and Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Service Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Prior to joining LinQuest, Dr. Alexovich began his career at Hughes Aircraft Company Space and Communications Division in 1979. While at Hughes Aircraft, he led the design and development of the Milstar Crosslink payload for the Block I system. Dr. Alexovich also completed his MSEE and Ph.D degrees as a Hughes Fellow.
From 1988 to 1995, Dr. Alexovich worked at LinCom Corporation as a Senior Systems Engineer. At LinCom, he contributed to the system design of the MDR Milstar System and the Teledesic System.
In 1995, Dr. Alexovich joined Hughes Communications Company as Deputy Director of a newly formed End to End System Architecture organization. The System Architecture Organization provided the System Engineering and Integration for all of the Hughes Space Communication systems for commercial, DoD, and Government Agency customers. In this role, he led the end to end system engineering for the Thuraya Mobile Satellite System including contract negotiations on through system hand-over for commercial operations.
In 2003, Dr. Alexovich joined Titan Corporation Communications and Software Solutions Division (CSSD) as a Chief Engineer and Technical Director for CSSD Transformational Communications System activities. In January 2004 Dr. Alexovich joined LinQuest Corporation as part of the Asset Purchase Agreement that transferred most of the assets from the Communications and Software Solutions Division to LinQuest.
Dr. Alexovich received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1981 and 1988, respectively.
Mr. Scott Stowe
Mr. Scott Stowe is a Member of the Board and Vice President and General Manager for the Military Space Systems Group of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Prior to joining LinQuest, Mr. Stowe spent fifteen years in the Air Force where he worked on various satellite, airborne, and terrestrial communications systems. In 1992, he Joined LinCom Corporation where he lead various development and systems engineering efforts in military satellite communications programs as a Senior, Principal, and then Corporate Engineer.
Upon acquisition of LinQuest in 2000, he was assigned the Director of Operations Engineering at the Communications and Software Solutions Division of Titan Corporation. Mr. Stowe has been in the industry for more than three decades holding numerous technical and managerial positions within the Air Force, LinCom, Titan, and now LinQuest.
Mr. Stowe earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly in 1986 and a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1990. Mr. Stowe and his wife, Karen, live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mr. Jim Light
Mr. Jim Light is a Member of the Board and Vice President of Business Development of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Mr. Light has been with LinQuest since 2004 and has successfully orchestrated and executed a strategy that has resulted in LinQuest’s growth into new customers and mission areas.
Prior to joining LinQuest, Mr. Light worked for General Dynamics, Veridian and Trident Data Systems in positions ranging from leading operations / program organizations to Senior Vice President in charge of developing corporate strategy and coordinating all space related activities across all divisions. He was also an officer in Air Force for over 13 years. During this time he was in a variety of space related DOD and Intel organizations and served as an exchange officer with the Canadian Forces. His positions ranged from Systems Engineer to Commander.
Mr. Light’s twenty-nine year career experience spans the entire lifecycle of space programs from program conception, to acquisition, to factory build and test, to launch, and to on-orbit operations. His systems experience spans Space Shuttle, a variety of launch vehicles, and a variety of DOD, Fed/Civil and Intelligence Community satellites. He also has significant experience in the ground based network, command and control and physical infrastructure to support these systems and their operations. Mr. Light’s career has included significant experience in evolving network centric systems and operations as well as reliability centered design, operations and maintenance of DoD and Fed/Civil ground, air and space systems.
Mr. Light holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Chapman University.
Dr. Pravin Jain
Dr. Pravin Jain is a Member of the Board and Chief Scientist and Vice President of LinQuest Corporation. LinQuest is an employee owned company focused on the engineering development, integration, deployment and operation of state of the art communications and network systems. The company’s annual revenue is approximately $100M. LinQuest supports all U.S. Military Branches, DoD agencies, and commercial customers.
Prior to joining LinQuest in September 2005 he was over 30 years with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) of the U.S. Department of Defense. He held several senior level positions at DISA retiring as the Chief Scientist of the GIG Enterprise Services Engineering Directorate.
Dr. Jain is internationally recognized expert with over 40 years of professional experience in military satellite communications and space programs. He was DISA’s focal point in dealing with senior-level officials within the DOD, intelligence agencies, defense industry, Congress, NATO and foreign governments on space issues. He directed and supervised DISA’s SATCOM architecture, planning, engineering and operational activities and managed an organization comprising over 80 military and civilian personnel. He also directed DISA’s Commercial SATCOM acquisition activities leading to DOD’s largest small business contract (over $2.0B) for acquisition and lease of commercial SATCOM services and associated ground terminals.
Dr. Jain began his professional career in 1961 with Siemens AG in Munich, Germany. In 2003, he received the Presidential Rank Award for exceptional long-term accomplishments and commitment to excellence in public service - awarded to less than 1% of the career members of the Senior Executive Services (SES). He is also a recipient of Secretary of Defense “Meritorious Civilian Service” award and twice DISA Director’s "Exceptional Civilian Service Award".
Dr. Jain has PhD, MEEE and BSEE degrees all in Electrical Engineering.
