Vertical-sensing Effectiveness & CONOPS Tool for Operational Requirements

The Vertical-sensing Effectiveness & CONOPS Tool for Operational Requirements (VECTOR) is a multi-platform & multi-sensor constructive simulation. It combines reference system errors with distributed and fused active/passive sensor performance errors for weapon & mission impacts.

Attributes

  • Control GUI for I/O, Execution, Visualization
  • Scenario replay with STK interface
  • Utilizes GIANT as its GPS/INS engine
  • Drives AFRL’s GPS HITL Virtual Testbed
  • Multiple user-selectable comma-delimited output files for performance and effectiveness
  • GOTS (AFRL/RYRN)

VECTOR was conceived out of the need to evaluate the impact of the complete set of PVAFT (Position, Velocity, Attitude, Frequency, Time) reference errors on C4ISR performance and effectiveness for air-to-ground mission scenarios.

Capabilities

  • Target Geolocation Error Analysis
  • Time Sensitive/Time Critical Targets Analysis
  • C4ISR mission effectiveness analyses
  • Tactical ISR mission analyses
  • Wargames
  • Dynamic HiTL signal environments
  • Future: Net-Centric Warfare

VECTOR has been applied to several AFRL and GPSW programs to support requirements and system design trades for reference and signal geolocation systems.
