Global Positioning System Interference And Navigation Tool

The Global Positioning System (GPS) Interference And Navigation Tool (GIANT) is a many-versus-many constructive and repeatable simulation tool that computes GPS and Inertial Navigation System (INS) performance and mission impacts in a benign or electronic combat environment.

Attributes

  • GUI, scenario visualization and user tools
  • Full documentation & training
  • User Equipment (UE), Satellite, Platform, and Interference/Jamming Databases
  • AF Standard Analysis Toolkit, AFSPC M&S Toolkit & AF MSRR
  • Applied during OIF for 14th AF
  • AOC Weapon Systems Baseline (10.0.12)
  • GOTS (SMC/XR) and CCB managed

GIANT was conceived out of the 1996 Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) Analysis of Alternatives for GPSW. It has an established user base and has been applied to hundreds of analyses. It has expanded beyond an analytic model to mission planning, test planning, and operational applications.

Capabilities

  • Navigation requirements and utility analyses
  • GPS Interference and Anti-jam analysis
  • Weapons Effects
  • Warfighter Mission Planning
  • GPS Operations Center (GPSOC) Prediction & Analysis
  • Signal environment contours

Planned developments include a client for the Jammer Detection and Location System (JLOC), ionospheric scintillation, updated databases, ground mission measures, other GNSS, and control segment fidelity improvements.
